Charles Trevelyan is the founder of Studio Trevelyan. There, he creates limited-edition design and furniture pieces using a variety of materials such as steel, timber, gauze and marble powder. His work often draws on the patination technique in which chemicals are painted onto the surface of bronze with heat, applied using a blowtorch. Variants of the chemical combination and the heat applied can completely change the appearance of the bronze. His chosen techniques give his pieces a sort of muted wildness. Each work has its own unique texture, creating both a functional piece and a unique, artistic experience. Trevelyan’s work has been exhibited in the Trapholt Museum in Denmark and the Design Museum in London, alongside other exhibitions in Paris, New York, Basel, Miami, Dubai, Milan and Kortrijk.
